grayscale photography of two people raising their handsFrom October to December, 2021, and again in January, 2022, EDIT Media is conducting a student survey seeking feedback about graduate and undergraduate students’ experiences in film and media programs in North America. Specifically, we are gathering demographic data, educational data, and qualitative data about undergraduate and graduate experiences with inclusion and belonging in film and media studies classes. The students might be majoring in media studies, taking classes in studies as they complete a degree in production or some other area of media, or they might be taking media studies as an elective course. All of these students are encouraged to take the survey. .

This survey is part of a study led by researchers Dr. Pam McAuslan (Psychology) and Prof. Jennifer Proctor (Journalism and Screen Studies) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in collaboration with Dr. Miranda Banks (Film, Television, and Media Studies) at Loyola Marymount University on behalf of EDIT Media. Findings will be used to support the development of a Best Practices for Inclusive Teaching in Film and Media Studies to complement EDIT Media’s existing Best Practices for Inclusive Teaching in Media Production
